How Baking Cakes Kept One Struggling Homeowner Afloat

Every once in a while you hear about a personal story that reminds you why we live in the greatest country in the world. Angela Logan, a single mom of three, had a “construction fiasco” that resulted in a foreclosure notice on her home. She couldn’t afford to fix the damage and keep the home until she talked to her kids about the idea of selling cakes to make up the $2,500 dollar payment due two weeks later. The four of them set out to make what they called “mortgage apple cakes.” They figured out if they could sell 100 cakes at $40 dollars a piece they could make the payment on their home. After the local community heard the news and the press got wind of the story everything changed.

Take a look at this very special woman’s story.
