    Obama: Is He Becoming Overexposed?

    This morning's roundtable discussion was on Obama's media presence. To date he has had 173 speeches, 2 dozen news conferences and more than 50 media interviews. Not one with Fox. Still trying to fix that as I have sent multiple requests to the White House. As you may recall, I interviewed the president when he was a nominee last summer.

    Joining me to discuss if he is overexposed or if the exposure is helping renew confidence was Dana Perino former White House Deputy Press Secretary (whom I adore and appear on Hannity's show with every Tuesday night), Christie Heffner, former Chairman & CEO of Playboy Enterprises and Jon Friedman from Marketwatch. Three people I highly respect both on and off the set.

    We had a healthy discussion about the merits to the President's exposure and if he is really following through on some of his promises for greater transparency. We had a debate about what transparency means. Is it opening up the White House or is it giving the American people access to legislation before it is signed into law as was previously promised?

    Take a look and tell me what you think. Is the President giving you the transparency he promised? Does it matter? How will his role as a public Commander in Chief affect his ability to get legislation passed and politicians to cross the aisle? Will the change he hopes for happen or will it wind up being a watered down version of change? Is that a good thing?

    Here's the video. Also note I am tweeting throughout the morning while I'm on air and throughout the day and I'm on facebook. My twitter address is www.twitter.com/alexisglick.

    Oh and here was my take, otherwise known as Glick's take on the show;

    1. The President & his campaign deserves very high marks for the exposure on the internet. Twitter, Facebook. They changed the outcome of the election by reaching young voters on the internet and continue to do so.

    2. As President of the United States it is his responsibility to speak to all constituents including FOX.

    3. The President while promoting transparency should be careful that he doesn't overexpose himself. He has a job to do. His exposure could be the key to confidence but could also spell trouble if his programs fail to deliver.

Alexis: I think the President is making a mistake by not reaching out to FOX viewers. I don't watch other news coverage and refuse to watch him until he starts to reach out to those who did not vote for him. I wanted to give him a chance as he became President but it seems he only wants to be President for those Americans who voted for him. I am tired of him making fun of FOX (this extends to their viewers) and critics who protested against the stimulus (I was not a tea party protester but supported them). Can you imagine if President Bush made fun of the "Code Pink" protestors? He didn't. He just said that men and women were fighting for them to have the right to protest and speak out. Until President Obama reaches out to me; I will not watch him no matter how much he is on tv.

The transparency Obama promised leaves a lot to be desired. His inexperience made him promise that during his campaign. Our nation is focused on party affiliation and not on what benefits our country or its citizens. Reaching accross the isle is a joke and it does leave us (the citizens) with legislation that is A) A waterdowned version or B) A porkfilled attachment to stimulate signatures. Finding consensus with a 300 million population is but a dream. Without some kind of unity America will not survive. If our government had not intervened with private businesses the economy would had a chance to correct itself. It will not be able to do so anymore. We can eliminate our bankruptcy policy/system as it was ignored in many current events. Which by itself throws off Tax Laws regarding bankruptcies and will require additional tax laws to be added to a never ending complex tax system. This will only create more loop holes as this is what starts loopholes to creep into our laws.

The main reason for the overexposure of Obama, is he has to feed his enormus ego. You can't tell me no one has noticed his 'arrogant' look that is present everytime he is on air? I for one refuse to feed his ego by watching him. Wait until 2012

Nobama is way overexposured. He made nebulous bytes of "hope" and "change" and only thing he has delivered is aggravating the financial disaster and the collapsing economy. Reflation is never a good answer. Socialism is a wrong answer. Falsely blaming free market capitalist system shows wrong thinking. And when the hypnosis over the nobamanoids starting waning, so will the nobama voodoo. TRUTH is this current administration is staging a fake recovery. Those who voted for the ineligible candidate do not have any understanding of economics/monetary economics, business, finance. That ignorance and hope bubbles have kept this honeymoon period going this far, but time is running out. Final Outcome: Nobama Hyperinflationary Depression And if this Nation is lucky enough, a Return to the Free Market Capitalist System that is and was the source of economic wealth and a strong middle class. Also, this Nation needs a Return to its Godly Foundation, which has been whittled away by materialistic, secular liberals/ACLU/demonrats...When this Nation returns to its GODLY Foundation, restoration of our former prosperity is possible, but not with the nobama hot air and wrong programs.

Overexposed? You bet. This country needs a Commander in Chief and a CEO. What we have gotten is a Communicator in Chief and Chief Entertainment Officer. No thanks. But elections do have consequences as Hannity and others keep reminding us. But when you elect a CEO with zero executive experience, what else should you expect to get? Given the state of technology, greater transparency is both possible and desirable. For reasons of power and control no one (yet) has the will to actually be transparent.

Alexis, I agree with your take on the show. Here's mine: Obama's advisors have a practice of punishing dissenters that will not serve them well. Fox and specifically OReilly and Hannity are the current focus. (Keep up the good work guys) The President and his team expanded on the pioneering efforts of Howard Dean's team. Conservatives in general and the GOP in particular have come to the party later. But, they are learning fast. So, Mr. Obama and his team are seeing their early advantage wane. Transparency is allowing insight into legislation, as it is being crafted. (Not the 5-day visibility, promised, but not delivered) If the President and his team REALLY want public discourse on his major initiatives and the bills coming out of them (in place of public opinion on their side as a result of the President's selling of his initiatives without the detail of them) we need a lot more transparency. Regards, John
