    Bernanke's Report Card

On The Opening Bell this morning I talked to Former Fed Governor Dr. Susan Phillips, who is now dean of the George Washington School of Business. I not only asked her what was happening behind the scenes when she was a Fed governor from 1991 through 1998 but also what she saw during her tenure.

Much like Bernanke and Paulson, there was a time during her tenure, that Greenspan, the former Fed Chairman, and Rubin, the former Treasury Secretary, worked closely together to navigate the U.S. economy out of some troubled times. How is this time different? Plus what did she make of Greenspan's comments today about tighter regulation. Has he gone too far in his criticism and why is it that he's most vocal on the days that the Fed meets? Finally, I asked her to give Bernanke a report card. See what she says :) !
