Yes, TV is perhaps the safer choice for people when drinking ! Don't Blog and Drive, er, Don't drink and blog I guess should be my motto.

Welp, upon waking from my noon nap ! noting these comments - I observe one of three things is true: It's: A. A full moon ( I don't think so) B. I'm multiple personality or C. I shouldn't start drinking into a case of Oxford Raspberry at 9 am Seeing 8 bottles missing, I'm going to go with C. Yikes, maybe TV IS better for me - this feedback option is going to max out the humility my side!

and I apologize for goin' off the edge on marketwatch What Makes Glick Tick - out of line and you didn't deserve the comments- I was probably projecting at some element of humanity in myself ! DrDetroit

OKAY OKAY OKAY LAST post then back to work "Long live the Glick Report !" :)
Greedom
okay okay okay last thought before I go back to work just hit my kitchen for an Oxford Raspberry! Seeing "Long Live the TV" as a title ? and then opening up ? you quote someone else ? I can relate, I do the same - I rely entirely too much using other people to prop me up - WHY ? because I too don't feel secure in my position on matters, so I tend to put other people up to make my points. Maybe I don't want to be fully responsible and can then say 'well it was them' if I'm wrong. Either way - take it for what it's worth, I think I see that in you - a tendency to rely too heavily on others to make your point. Either because you don't have one, or don't want to take responsibility for it, and I say that ONLY through my OWN experience doing the SAME thing. so - that's my best constructive criticism to ya. Still doesn't mean you're not a terrific person in real life probably - not my place to say - and even if I DID work at FBN - although I DO realize it's a closed group there, but I am a fan that work is work - and whether someone is likable or not doesn't affect how good they do their job. In fact ? maybe that's it - maybe you're co-dependent on people liking you - screw that Alexis - you win, great job experience, your own show, bio says great family - you win, so forget people liking you, the people you care about most probably love the heck out of you, so - hey - go find some way to celebrate !

ok, I'll post one last comment, not intended necessarily for publishing. The pic above ? says to me "I'm just not sure" well - BE sure ! I may - people may not, in fact, there will ALWAYS be someone who doesn't agree with an insight you're promoting - such as this TV theme. Hey - the way I do forums - comments, etc - is it's never personal - it took 15 years of realtime chat experience online via IRC to build up that it's never personal - the anonyminity in chat experience (politics and philosophy for me, some tech) leaves people often too 'loose' in what they say - me ? I gained from that - and learned to extract what I will - hopefully become a better person - HOPEFULLY not lose it and go off on some tangent (which I am guilty of)... Point being, I think you worry too much about what people think. Maybe "I" am projecting. But I really mean it when I say - hey, just because someone agrees OR disagrees - shouldn't move you. Hope you have a good rest of your life! you really ought to consider though how much success you DO have - and always be willing to throw anything away in order to reach higher ground in a flood of despair ! that's wording I've never seen, just kind of came out mid sentence, but probably applicable. In the case this was all therapeutic for me - hey, hope it was real ! and I hope you take time to realize you over-stress, and you don't need to ! now ! be happy !

Go hang out with Liz Be Alexis don't be Alexis as Alexis thinks people see Alexis just do forget what people think it's your life and it's a success CELEBRATE and VALIDATE that success you have NOTHING to be upset about ! ok - short of who knows, everyone has some stress in their life - but my god I hope you take some time to just enjoy life and remind yourself there isn't any cause to recoil to any stressful expression. Sleep in some day ! take a day off - you're in control - it's YOUR life. I will say NO more - hope to see more smiles than frowns !
Greedom
Celebrate your success ! be happy I don't get the facial expressions of stress. You are FREE and CLEAR beyond what many seek to accomplish vocationally. I'm guessing you've cut your own way too in your job pursuits - so, take a vacation maybe - or a mental one, or yourself everyday - 'hey, I'm WAY ahead of the game' you are. enjoy life - short of life's issuances of health problems - which are never welcomed... Sheesh, Alexis - what on EARTH do YOU have to be stressed about ? I hope you take a step back and re-evaluate how good you have it. You're set ! And you did it yourself - go write a book or something ! jk on that, but let go of what other people think of you - do something for Alexis - wake your silly self up and "I" wager the world will see more smiles in your expressions and less impulsive worry - life is short, make the best of it - you're part of it all

P.S. Again, I think you're a decent person, just the network doesn't bring any value to anyone if you ask me - but no one ever does. You're not without intellect, or emotion, or - well - I can't tell on the compassion, I THINK that's there, but hard to tell, then again, Business Russia - it's not germane whether Katherine is mean off the set. I get the notion you're not a mean person, but those 180's you pull in expression from smiling to WHAM 1.2 seconds later - total critical scorn look - I just don't know. Myself ? in person ? I'd not be able to handle that kind of emotional roller coaster ride, sheesh, someone like me ? who LIKES TV ? who IS too reactive ? I'd be eaten alive. On TV? it's taxing to watch. I watch your show sometimes JUST to see how many times you do the 180's on expression, today ? like I said, you looked tired, but possibly drugged, but then it was there, the 180 and BAM - critical look all of a sudden. I'd JUST leave you with this thought: no one had dibbs on what anything means, don't worry about appearance, don't worry about what anyone thinks of what you are going to say - don't worry about approval - just DO. Just make choices and live with em - as in GroundHog day I'm TRYING To suggest - lighten up - relax- don't let worry creep in - don't let anger creep in - just have fun - time moves too fast. You've come a long way BABY ! and take a step back and say - wow - sheseh, out of Columbia, I've got my own show, things are pretty good.

When Nietzsche said 'god is dead' he didn't mean 'god is dead' he meant- people don't derive their self identity THROUGH god anymore - they derive it through technology - Fred would have commented here regarding the Television forever title. I know it's probably not healthy for me to watch Fox as a study in human behavior or for entertainment. I will say this Alexia, you really do believe in what you do, that's a plus. I mean, you DO put yourself into things. I mean, I think you DO enjoy your work- lately you look like you've been up late or xanax perhaps - but that's human, AND your right. Here is a way to put it. If Fox Business went off the air ? No one would be in any deficit whatsoever. Short of the employees. Degree from Columbia ? hey, it's not Wharton, but coupled with the experience ? oughta be able to find something else when Fox gets nailed in 2k9. It will all come down to who testifies to knowing what - as to who will be able to actually free themselves from the branding of FBN to seek employement. If "I" were you ? considering there isn't anything critical that's changing the world by what you do ? I'd take the money - you HAVE to be making good enough money to retire by now, and go invest every moment with the kids. FBN oughta just pack up shop - TV + financial news = too risky for exploits. The net beats TV any day of the Roman week. TV - like God - is dead - in a Nietzschean regard.
Greedom
Alexis - you stated in dialog with Liz MacDonald - that you never use youtube.com perhaps that's a good thing. Really, it's overwhelming to see what people offer up, BUT there exists an AMAZING amount of potential educationally. I have learned SOOOOO much since the birth of the net. MIT Courseware ? that's FREE access to Mass. Institute of Technology - you can't beat it. TV ? Television ? We have Direct TV - I scan through, it's SCARY - 20 channels to derive your self esteem through shiny objects on home shopping channels - ? It's total crapola as to what's 'on' on TV. Then ? if you find something ? ads ads ads. Fox is highly entertaining, I mean, heh, again, I watch your network as a comedy network - Geraldo ? 2008 ? come on ? O'reilly ? as IF he's someone that has dibbs on what I should consider meaningful ? the best of the bunch is Vanity and Holmes, Vanity is a gem - it's golden - when he dresses up in black on sunday's ? Man - one day Bellevue is just going to say 'hey, you want a room on the jesus floor ?'. You're interesting too Alexis. You're probably an okay person, your personal life is just that, that's not fair game to comment on, but - on air ? you get so reflexive facially - 180's every 10 seconds from smile to scorn. That's entertainment to me. Study of human behavior too. What makes Glick Tick. Again, watch Business Russia, Katherine is the best. She just reports. MAYBE she moves her hand, but it's clean, respectful, no emotes, just the data.

Fox promotes it has 'the ratings' and yet ? you get advertisers like CountryWide - Head On, pet homeopathics - I've never seen a Kraft Macaroni and Cheese ad on Fox I never will you get nothing you have loser products, loser clients - take CountryWide for one - you make up your ratings, otherwise you WOULD have real clients advertising. I could probably retire just publishing a book on just what 'quality' of products you DO promote in between your - MORE paid TV ads promoting stocks etc. I watch Fox for entertainment purposes ONLY - you've had your moments Alexis, you're not a 'bad' person, I don't think anyone at Fox is really a 'bad' person, some DO have some serious flaws though, take O'reilly on screaming, that's a problem.

Your out of your league when it comes to chair of the FCC, crime, Kevin Martin and Rupert Murdoch Alexis. I say - when Martin is ousted ? in handcuffs or not, the world can breath freer - cleaner - and we can look back at corporate media control and say - good riddance. Odd use of the internet and emails would undermine television. Moody should consider leaving the country sooner than later. If Martin breaks - Moody is worse off than Scooter, only thing is - Bush won't be there to pardon.
Greedom
My favorite comment on Murdoch, Moody and Fox was Jesse Venture on Vanity and Holmes: Jesse "Oh come on, you get your material and direction to report on from the second floor" Vanity: "I do not, I choose what I want to report on" Jesse: "So, you're telling me you WANTED to report on Anna Nicole Smith for 3 months ?:" something like that was golden you're all owned, short of Liz MacDonald - she holds her own I think. I like to say - Fox needs Liz, Liz doesn't need Fox. The rest'a ya - 'ended up at Fox' and can head on over to MSNBC after the Fox indictments take the whole place down. Kevin Martin - chair of the FCC will not be there after feb. 2009 - he will need a very good lawyer too. With that unravels Murdoch's empire, and FBN/Fox News.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy TV for one thing. Distraction. I need distraction, that's just me. I prefer 'reacting' sometimes, it's CLOSE to lucid dreaming, except one pays in the form of having that lucid stream polluted with commercial interests. But I even find commercials revealing about our culture and what we find meaningful, or what someone THINKS people should find meaningful. Lately ? I've observed a lot of questionable products on Fox (mostly) - such as Head On, or the homeopathic pain remedies. These were on a good bit. At first I thought. Recently the FDA nailed a good many products that were for the most part- consumer fraud. Head On, if you check out what's IN the product ? is mostly WAX. Check wikipedia for one (they removed my comments that it's to also promote people brains to tolerate brainwashing !). Now, lately ? I look at these ads and ask myself ? Hey, 45 + million people don't have healthcare, is this a way of saying "don't you worry you reactive losers, you have Head On and homeopathics for you and your pets ? " Television all in all I think does more harm than good. Take Rupert Murdoch, he has acquired Fox News, Wall Street Journal (Fox Journal on Sunday TV wise), Fox Business News, too many TV stations to name. Thanks to Kevin Martin at the FCC as Chairman ? Murdoch now controls a considerable chunk of the corporate driven media. If Murdoch were to make one mistake or misuse media ? TV becomes very dangerous.

It's interesting to use the internet to comment on why TV doesn't allow commenting. TV is indeed one way, reactive. I find a decent definition of depression being the inability to act, or be pro-active, to only react. Television therefore - one would expect - be depressing. I'm STILL tempted to clock whether Fox has more commercials than content. Regarding the Fox Business Network, starting at midnight, it's 100% paid TV ads - leaving me to wonder at times, whether during the day ? it's still 100% paid TV ads. It is critical that those who promote stocks do not take place in any form of ownership. I was happy to see Jim Kramer note he does not own any stocks. At the end of Charlie, e.g. Flowers For Algernon, I recall when asked the future of education Charlie responded "Television", politics - Charlie responded "Television" onward. I find television to encourage a mechanistic reactionary trend to which again and again I see our culture attempting to wake itself from the one way channeled machine fed content - whether it's Star Wars 'Turn off the Machine Luke' ! or my own decision to turn it off. I say if one is going to sit down and just 'react' - it better be some high quality material, and ideally ? as with remoted education practices ? there should be some interaction. I pay near three figures for Sat/Cable, and yet ? more ads. TV at the end of the day is one big commercial/exploit.
