Hi EVERYONE from the Gretawire! Thank you so much for coming to visit my blog. I owe a big thank you to Greta for sending all of you over to my blog. I'm a huge fan of Greta's and love her blog. An Interview with Peter Chernin

Back home from Louisiana. Took nine hours last night! What happens to your brain when you only sleep ten hours in three nights? We may witness it on tv today :) This morning on Money for Breakfast we're running a two part interview with Peter Chernin, the president and chief operating officer of News Corp. Symbols of New Orleans

It's just about 6 p.m. and I am now on my way back home from New Orleans. It has been such a busy and exciting couple of days. I arrived in New Orleans at noon yesterday and now I am en route to Dallas on my way back to New York. Flying to and from New Orleans on direct flights was impossible. The flights were booked solid. I had to fly through Houston on my way down. So time for honest ... read more

More Reasons to Love FX

Are you an FX fan? Like shows like The Shield or Damages? Impressed by heavy hitters like Forest Whitaker, Eddie Izzard, Danny DeVito, Courteney Cox, Glenn Close -- you name it? The man behind all of that success and those names is John Landgraf, president and general manager of FX, who -- hot off the press -- signed a 3-year deal this morning with Fox Networks Group (an operating unit of News ... read more

We look back at the history of these companies: the rivalry, the calculated moves, the change in marketing and ... read more

A Role Model On and Off the Field

One of the great heroes of the city of New Orleans, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees joined me this morning at Cafe Du Monde for Money for Breakfast. First of all, he arrived with NO entourage. He was kind, warm, unassuming and incredibly generous with his time. I was deeply honored that he came to join us at 6:00 a.m. on a day when the team was set to meet at 7:30 a.m. ... read more

New Orleans Then and Now

It's been years since I last visited New Orleans, and it feels great to be back! Yesterday I flew down to the Crescent City for the annual NCTA convention. The NCTA, or National Cable and Telecommunications Association, meets once a year. Last year it was in Las Vegas. This year it's in New Orleans. A lot of big business decisions get accomplished at the convention. In the cable world, the ... read more

The Great Libertarian Debate

Like a good dialogue about the issues facing this economy? Ever thought about the merits of the largest third party in this country? The Libertarian Party was founded in 1971. It's most commonly held belief is that individuals deserve freedom and therefore less government involvement. This morning on Money for Breakfast we invited two of the political party's (the Libertarian Party) ... read more
